All Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) personnel at Aircraft Ducting Repair are certified to MIL-STD-410 and all FPI is done in accordance with MIL-STD-6866, MIL-STD-1907, MIL-STD-2175 and MIL-I-25135. Each new inspector at ADR receives both class room training and on-the-job training administered by a Level II and Level III inspector.

Depending on each inspector's level of expertise, this training period may last from two weeks to two months. Each trainee must have, as a minimum, 8 hours training under the direct supervision of a Level II or Level III inspector to become certified as a Level I inspector.

Level I inspectors are approved to prepare components for inspection by a Level II or Level III inspector. However, Level I inspectors are not approved to make final acceptance or rejection interpretations. Each Level I inspector must have, as a minimum, an additional 8 hours training in accordance with a detailed course outline approved by a Level III inspector to become certified as a Level II inspector. Level II inspectors are approved to prepare components for inspection and make final acceptance or rejection interpretations. ADR currently has four Level II inspectors on staff.
